Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim

Ex Co-Host Files Bullying Claim Against Dan Walker at Employment Tribunal

TV personality Dan Walker is set to face an employment tribunal after Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, his former Channel 5 News co-host, filed a claim alleging workplace bullying. Vanderpuije’s legal representative confirmed that both ITN, the producer of Channel 5 News, and Paramount, its parent company, are included as respondents in the case.

The Mail on Sunday reported that Vanderpuije’s accusations also extend to claims of sexism and misogyny. An ITN spokesperson stated that the allegations are “denied in full” and emphasized the organization’s commitment to resolving the matter through the tribunal process.

“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said the ITN representative.

Vanderpuije, who previously hosted BBC Breakfast, left Channel 5 News in 2024. Walker, known for his appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, was paired with her as a co-host in 2022. A prior internal review of her allegations against Walker found no evidence of misconduct, though the case has been refiled.

The tribunal is scheduled to commence in London on 20 April and will span five weeks. Vanderpuije’s lawyer, Jonathan Coad, outlined the timeline, while Walker has provided over 50 character witness statements to support his defense. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also listed as a respondent in the legal proceedings.
