EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Diana’s Bridal Gown Designer Faces Financial Collapse
Lady Diana Spencer’s 1981 wedding to Prince Charles featured a white gown crafted by David Emanuel alongside his wife, Elizabeth. The ivory silk taffeta and lace creation, complete with a 25-foot train, captivated an estimated 750 million viewers watching on television worldwide.
Despite the global acclaim for the design, David Emanuel’s ventures have since encountered severe financial challenges. Both his companies, Licensed to Design and Renaissance Man, have entered liquidation, accumulating nearly £300,000 in combined debts. Newly released documents reveal a £280,443 liability at Licensed to Design, established in 2002, and an additional £10,000 at Renaissance Man, founded in 2018.
In statements provided to liquidators, David reported assets valued at £164,000 as “uncertain to realise.” The list of liabilities includes £72,000 owed to HMRC in corporation tax, £103,000 to NatWest Bank, and £33,000 to Ovo Energy. Fixtures and fittings are listed at £96,000, while directors’ loans of £60,000 remain unconfirmed.
“I do think that the liberal Left, which I am sort of part of, have this habit of dismissing people who don’t agree with them,”
stated Paloma Faith on her podcast, addressing metropolitan Lefties. She suggested they should cease supporting Nigel Farage’s Reform UK followers to foster better political unity.
David, who previously faced financial strain after divorcing Elizabeth, is also among creditors at Licensed to Design, owing £44,438. His daughter Eloise, meanwhile, is listed for £5,000. In 2024, David lost a High Court battle against Elizabeth, claiming her use of shared designs infringed his copyright.
