Child Dies in Dog Attack, Police Report
Authorities confirmed the death of a child following an alleged dog attack. Cleveland Police responded to a call at Hardale Grove, Dormanstown, Redcar, just after 1:30 PM BST, after receiving reports of a child in danger. Upon arrival, the child was found deceased, and the police suspect the cause was a dog bite.
One canine was destroyed on the street, while another was taken into custody at the premises. The BBC sought details from the police regarding the child’s age and the dogs’ breeds. District Commander Emily Harrison of Redcar and Cleveland noted that officers were still on-site as the investigation continued.
“This is a deeply saddening and tragic event, and we are with the family in their sorrow,” Harrison remarked. “She also urged anyone with concerns or information to contact a police officer.”
