James Tarkowski injury latest after missing Arsenal vs Everton

Everton’s center-back James Tarkowski will miss the Premier League clash against Arsenal because of an injury. This marks his first absence from a game this term, with Jarrad Branthwaite also sidelined, forcing manager David Moyes to deploy Jake O’Brien and Michael Keane in the defensive role.

Manager’s remarks on the injury

When asked about Tarkowski’s injury before kick-off, Moyes said: ‘I’m not sharing anything with you. You can see it, we’re missing two center-halves today, but we’ve also got two who have one really well for us. We’re prepared, we prepared during the week, we’ve had time to do so, so it shouldn’t make too much difference hopefully.’

Arsenal, meanwhile, have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table by 10 points ahead of Manchester City’s trip to West Ham. A victory for Everton at the Emirates Stadium would propel them into sixth place, surpassing Brentford in the standings.
