Melania Trump says rumours linking her to Epstein ‘need to stop’
In a recent statement at the White House, Melania Trump dismissed links to Jeffrey Epstein, insisting that claims connecting them “must cease immediately.” She addressed reporters during a press event, where she took the opportunity to address the ongoing speculation surrounding her relationship with the convicted sex offender.
On Thursday, she unexpectedly urged Congress to convene hearings for survivors of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking activities. The First Lady also rejected online narratives suggesting Epstein had introduced her to Donald Trump, calling these stories “cynical efforts to tarnish my image.” The reasoning behind her abrupt move remains unclear.
Melania Trump asserted she had not been victimized by Epstein. “I’ve never been aware of his victims’ abuse, nor have I participated in any role,” she stated. She further claimed to have no familiarity with Ghislaine Maxwell, the jailed associate of the disgraced financier. A 2002 email exchange between the two, disclosed in the Epstein documents, was described by Trump as merely “informal communication” and a “courteous response.”
“Every woman deserves the chance to share her story publicly, with her testimony permanently recorded in the congressional record. Only after this process can the truth be fully established,” she emphasized.
Trump implored lawmakers to “allow these victims to present their testimonies under oath before Congress, leveraging the authority of sworn statements.” Her remarks highlighted the importance of giving each survivor a platform to recount their experiences, ensuring their accounts are formally documented for public review.
