A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, lost his life in a collision involving a car, bicycle, and scooter in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, on Friday at 23:50 BST. The incident left two other teenagers with critical injuries, prompting a court appearance for his parents, Jamie Fountain and Ellie Ireland. Both were charged with multiple offenses and remanded in custody for a hearing scheduled on 5 May at Luton Crown Court.

Jamie Fountain, 24, a groundworker from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, was accused of causing death by careless driving, along with being under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He also faced charges for causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop at the scene, and not reporting the accident. Ellie Ireland, 23, a cabin crew member for EasyJet based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, was charged with conspiracy to obstruct the justice process. Both defendants had family members present during the court proceedings.
“He was a fun, bright, handsome, athletic boy who was incredibly well-liked,” said Noah’s family in a statement released by police.
Preliminary reports indicated that Fountain was operating a BMW at the time of the crash. Police confirmed that one of the two injured individuals remained in hospital in a serious condition on Sunday. The case has drawn attention to the circumstances surrounding the collision, with the couple now set to appear in a more formal court session.
