Coronation Street’s Todd takes desperate action to avoid evil Theo’s rage as his ordeal escalates

In tonight’s episode, Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) faced a challenging dilemma with his partner Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) regarding his birthday. Theo’s control over their finances has left Todd in a precarious situation, as he struggles to manage money responsibly in Theo’s eyes. The relationship has grown tense, with Theo enforcing daily allowances and refusing to agree on a shared bank account to assert dominance.

Todd’s efforts to buy Theo a gift hit a snag when his personal funds fell short. To make up for the shortfall, he nervously approached Theo for more money, dreading the possibility of triggering his partner’s violent temper. Theo, however, remained calm, offering £200 with the condition that it be used for both a present and a meal.

Upon arriving at work, Todd’s day deteriorated further when he spilled food on himself and accidentally shattered his phone’s screen. With his account now overdrawn, he fretted over how to cover the phone repair, pay his bills, and organize Theo’s birthday celebration within the £200 limit. Desperate to ease the pressure, Todd later visited a pawnshop, exchanging Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) cufflinks for cash.

Next week, Theo plans to invite Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) for the birthday gathering. After the meal, Theo demanded Todd settle the bill, insisting they treat the guests. Todd, embarrassed, admitted he only had £80, prompting Theo to pay with his card, leaving Todd in a state of humiliation.

Back at home, Theo turned harsh, accusing Todd of ruining the celebration and snapping at him to retrieve a bottle of wine. When Todd suggested coffee instead, Theo erupted in a terrifying display of rage that left him cowering in fear. What is Theo going to do?
