This year’s Brit Awards ceremony, held for the first time in Manchester, showcased a mix of established icons and emerging talents. The event was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, with pop star Harry Styles opening the night. Olivia Dean, a Brit School alumna, stood out as a major force, claiming four awards including the Album of the Year title.
Key Winners Highlighted
Among the top honors, the Song of the Year (public vote) was awarded to Sam Fender & Olivia Dean for their track “Rein Me In.” Other notable entries in the category included Cynthia Erivo (feat. Ariana Grande)’s “Defying Gravity,” Fred again.., Skepta & PlaqueBoyMax’s “Victory Lap,” Chrystal’s “The Days (NOTION Remix),” and Calvin Harris & Clementine Douglas’s “Blessings.”
Breakthrough and Category Awards
Lola Young was recognized as the Breakthrough Artist, while Olivia Dean took the Artist of the Year crown. The International Group of the Year went to Huntrix (Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami). In the Best Alternative/Rock Act category, Sam Fender emerged victorious. Fred again.., Skepta & PlaqueBoyMax claimed Best Dance Act, and Dave was honored as Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act.
International Recognition
The International Artist of the Year title was presented to Rosalia, and the International Song of the Year (public vote) was shared between ROSE & Bruno Mars for “APT.” and Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars for “Die With A Smile.” Additional entries included Disco Lines & Tinashe’s “No Broke Boys” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.”
Album of the Year
Olivia Dean’s “The Art Of Loving” was named Album of the Year, cementing her status as a leading figure in the music scene. Dave’s “The Boy Who Played The Harp” also received critical acclaim, though it narrowly missed the top prize.
